Everest Poker Review

Everest Poker is one of the industry's leading online poker rooms. Although it does not accept US players it is probably the most international online poker site with players coming from all over the world. Everest supports as much as 19 languages which definitely has a positive impact on the room's popularity in the international online poker arena. Everest Poker is also the main sponsor of some big live poker events and have their own pro team, a member of which - Antoine Saout made it to the 2009 WSOP final table. Everest is also the place to get some generous bonuses and find valuable promotions. When signing up to Everest through OnlinePoker10 the players may choose one of two first deposit bonuses of either $300 or $500. This is one of the advantages of Everest Poker – the players are always free to choose what they want.

Short Description

Everest Poker is definitely one of the top online poker rooms in Europe. Their website and support service is available in 14 European languages + Japanese. Moreover, Everest software can be set to 19 different languages including Chinese, Korean, Hebrew + Spanish and Portuguese language options attract a lot of players from Latin America. This of course helps increase Everest popularity and bring more players from different locations all over the world. Everest Poker pro team also includes top poker players from various different countries - Antoine Saout, a member of 2009 WSOP November Nine and Fabrice Soulier from France, Cristiano Blanco from Italy, Steven van Zadelhoff from the Netherlands, Voitto Rintala from Finland, Kim Wooka from Japan and Maria Maceiras from Spain. The international diversity of the Everest pro team just shows that although the room does not accept players from the world's major online poker consumer – USA it still remains one of the top players in the market as it is popular in all the other parts of the globe.

Games, Stakes and Limits

Everest Poker is best known for their micro and low limit games which attract a lot of amateur poker players. High stakes action is absent at Everest so those looking for big money might get disappointed. However, as the room is full of beginning poker players who tend to play loose even at the higher limits, the more advanced players may take advantage of it and significantly increase their bankroll. Everest also does not include a wide range of games offering only Texas Hold'em and Omaha and their limit variations.

The stakes do not go very high, they start at the lowest $0.02/$0.02 in no-limit Hold'em and pot-limit Omaha (in no-limit and pot-limit games Everest choose to indicate only the big blinds in the stakes column. $0.02/$0.02 actually means that the big blind is $0.02 whereas the small blind - $0.01. In limit games the stakes are displayed as usual) and reach the highest $50/$100 in limit Hold'em and $30/$60 in limit Omaha games.

Everest Traffic Stats

Everest is definitely one of the top “European” online poker sites. It ranks fourth in player traffic among the rooms that do not accept US players and seventh in the overall poker site rankings. This is rather impressive for a room which offers only Hold'em and Omaha games, does not have huge tournaments and is US-unfriendly. What's more is that Everest had managed to increase their player traffic numbers by 20% during 2009. Although Everest's year average is 2,500 online cash players the latest trends show the average of over 3,000 cash players and the numbers are constantly growing. Everest hosts around 6,000 real money players on its peak hours most of them playing loose at low limits. With lots of fish in the sea players with at least some poker experience might find playing at Everest rather profitable. However, most of the more advanced poker players tend to choose the online poker rooms with more high-stakes action leaving Everest for those who are just making their first steps in online poker and want to build their bankroll. Everest is just a perfect place for that.

Everest Features

The major Everest Poker features are busy low-limit tables and loose play. The room is extremely beginner-friendly, offers only Hold'em and Omaha which is good for amateur players who don't want to get confused. The VIP summit club lets the players feel its presents – the poker client program has a special option which allows choosing between real money games, summit point play and free poker (most of the rooms only have real and play money games). Ring games, Sit and Go's and MTT's all have summit point games which allow either to get points for free or to increase their amount by paying some as a tournament buy-in. The benefits of the program is that summit points allow to clear the bonuses, enter freerolls or some other big tournaments and even convert them into real cash.

One of the most exiting Everest promotions is Live the Dream – a contest for Everest Poker players with the grand prize of 10 year-long sponsorship deals worth $100,000 each. Every Everest player may submit their application for this contest and the rest of the users get to vote for those who they think deserve this sponsorship deal the most. Every player taking part in this promo is indicated by a special image while they're at the tables so that the rest of the players would know and get the chance to vote for them if they like their play. Then Everest picks ten best players out of 200 finalists and award them with the sponsorship contracts.

Everest Poker Software

The Everest Poker client is fast to download and to install, although the software itself might need a little more of the system resources than the usual online poker program to run smoothly. The lobby is easy to use and to navigate as the room is beginner-orientated so is the poker software. The tables look classy with interchangeable background environment, player rotation option while just observing the game and a number of useful options when in the game: full player stats, hand history, reload chips, and all the other necessary tabs and buttons. The table window can be re-sized in any way fitting any screen and allowing the multi-tabling option. Table and card animations can be disabled if the game does not run fast enough. Some of the other settings that can be modified are the chat font size (the chat window can also be detached from the table), enabling/disabling avatars, the notifications can also be switched on and off.

Support

Although Everest Support service is available only via email they tend to answer the queries rather fast and solve the problems quickly. There is also a very helpful FAQ page with the answers to all of the most common questions and a special Help tab in the lobby providing all the information about poker a beginning player might need when they start playing.
